It's said that in Toronto, city of Canada, within the context of genocide lesson, also armenian genocide claims will be taught to students. And more than 200.000 Turkish people has gathered signitures to protest this event.
Council chief of this protest, Lale Eskicioğlu warned that it's a wrong decision because it can cause a chaos and Turkish students in Canada can be under attack of other Canadian students.
In 2002, Canadian parliament accepted Armenian genocide and prime minister of Canada, Stephen Harper refered Armenian genocide in his explanations many times.
Even Turkey objects this, till this time parliaments of 19 countries has accepted this (so-called) Armenian genocide.

i have never read about this matter..
the thing we can do is to learn how many armenians were killed, and what they had done earlier, fron an objective source.. :)
What is your opinion Burcu?
Is there armenian genocide?
Or it was just a war?
If the clause "armenian genocide" fortified from the national community, then the Armenians has the right to ask balm for the genocide?
as i emphasized in my post, 19 countries has accepted this so-called genocide.so it's normal that u've never read about it.not only ottoman empire but also many other countries forced others (minorities) to immigrate.but armenians wanted to set an independent armenian nation in boundries of Turkey...and that's why they were forced to immigrate other places. till 1900s no war was called as a genocide and can someone answer me why wars are called as genocides after 1900s?
anyway, during these immigrations, there had been terror events which were caused by armenian minorities again.resistance groups died while they were immigrating.
why nobody doesn't accept the genocide that armenians did for azerbaijan?it's not very historic event.just look back in 1992.yes in 26th of february 1992.they murdered children, old people, women, men like wild animals.

but here the thing that i am against is it's being taught in schools as a class...then here in Turkey or in Greece or in Cyprus, "atilla polemo" should also be taught as a lesson for students?ha?
i ll stick on this..
the number of the armenians that where killed.. and then we can compare this one with other genocides or "so-called genocides".
Burcu the difference between Azerbaijani civilians that were killed and the armenian genocide is that in the first occasion less than 1000 people were killed while in the genocide more than 1500000 Armenians were killed, out of a total of two and a half million Armenians in the Ottoman Empire.Thats why it is called genocide.
And i havent read anywhere about terror events from the Armenians side...only for political claims.
Furthermore what is your opinion about Orhan Pamuk, who is a Nobel Prize-winning Turkish novelist that said "Thirty thousand Kurds, and a million Armenians were killed in these lands and nobody dares to talk about it." and directly after that statement he was charged and almost got in prison while his books were burned.?

genocide is the deliberate and systematic destruction of an entire people who belong to one racial, political, cultural or religious group.this crime happens by permission of a nation's government or leaders.but if you ask me, real genocide happened in 1939-1945 to 6 millions of Jewishs, more than 3 millions of soviet prisoners,1 million polish and yugoslavian, 200.000 gipsies and 70.000 handicapped people by nazis(adolf hitler). And later, in 1954-1962 Frenchs murederd more than 1 million algerians.
In 1915, the aim of ottoman empire was to make armenians immigrate to more safe areas of Turkey like east side.it was because to provide the safety of armenians and frontages.yes some of these armenians dies while they were immigrating or while there were anatolian wars in east of Turkey.but it was due to lack of food, medicine, vehicle, gas and epidemic diseases. because there were civil insurrections.no one planned this and it didn'T happen consciousness.
In fact armenians were banished many times in earlier history if you look back.they betrayed, cheated the governements which they were living under sway.and after this, they had to immigrate or they were banished.in 379 sassanid empire banished them to iran and in 1025 byzantine Empire banished 40.000 armenians to sivas and kayseri.but it has never been mentioned till 1915.ottoman empire had right reasons to change their places or banish them.they cheated ottoman empire by being spy of russian army and changing their support in world war I. and i call it as "treason felony "...with support of russians and frenches they attacked many turkish villages. and when ottoman empire tried to to put down these revolts everybody called it like "muslims are killing christians"...
We have already opened our archives to those who claim there was a genocide. If they are sincere, they should also open theirs. This would allow historians to work on documents on both sides… Teams of historians from both sides should conduct studies in these archives… We do not want future generations to have a difficult life because of hatred and resentment. However Armenian side says there is no need to discuss the Armenian allegations, because they are already proven. Many historians from the US and Europe including Prof. Dr. Justin McCarthy and Prof. Dr. Stanford Shaw says the 1915 events cannot be considered as ‘genocide’.Armenians claim that at least 1.5 million of their kinfolk were murdered during the last years of the Ottoman Empire. However the number of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire was less than 1.3 million.

and about orhan pamuk. he is a real viper, a betrayer.. because he sold his nation, he betrayed his nation.he forgot that 30.000 soldiers died because of these kurds.it's normal that he got prize because Turkey has lots of enemies and he deserved being awarded by referring Turkey in worst way.i am so shame of myself because i am sharing same nationality with him...he calls himself turkish by betraying Turkey with his book.he got this prize being supported by evangelists (missionary)groups inside and outside of Turkey.yes claimed that Turks killed 30.000 kurds and 1 million armenian..but when he turns back to turkey, he denied it.because he was afraid of the reaction of Turkish people.
Burcu, as i told u i ve never read about this genocide. Perhaps u r right from ur point of view, but i have to call u to task..
No one author, novelist or just simple writer is either viper or betrayer because of his/her writings..
NOT BY A LONG SIGHT..
We live in Democracy.
I strongly believe that everyone espouses that..
..at least in this blog.
:) kisses
administrator: i call him as a viper because of his sentences and lack of acknowledge about some Turkish tradition or maybe he uttered it in wrong way.(you can't understand what i mean because u didn't read any of his books)
yes of course i am right but not in my point of view.in everyway! they don't accept to open their libraries or discuss about anything..just claim and claim..Greece also accepts this s-called genocide(i'm sorry) so it's normal that u haven't read it before.
But anyway, i told u,it's not right to teach this in schools (in Toronto)...it will just cause fights among youth and students.
i don't want to act as a nationalist and you know how i am sensible in this topic administrator but here there are many many armenians living in Turkey.and many of them are my door neighbour and they live in wealthy.can u asnwer me to whom they owe this wealthy?if they live in safe now, they owe this to ottoman empire, to Turkish people...we are not as barbarian as some thinks.

look.. i dont care about what is written in his books.. ok?
keep in mind that literature is one of the free arts..
everyone in this world, has/or must have the right to write whatever he/she wants regardless of his/her nationality, religion and race. right? whatever- ABSOLUTELY WHATEVER..
if u don t like the book, dont read it.
and i say again.. i hope everyone in this blog accepts this idea..
otherwise u r not worthy(whoever) to write in this blog.
:) kisses
i am not here to divide nations and races or languages how can u say that? i didn't say i don't like his art or books.. just some sentences of him pushed me to this idea. you are saying that everybody has his/her right to explain something, then why are u accusing me to explain my opinions here?
noone keep someone here with obligation! if u don't like mine, it's your choice administrator.before writing this post,i took your opinion because i had doubts, because i knew something would happend..and it happened at the end!
