SIRTAKI RECORD IN RHODES

Today when i was reading morning news from e-newspaper, an interesting record took attention of me...Years ago, the latest Sirtaki record was broken in a Greek Festival which was held in Australia...1608 people danced Sirtaki. I was surprised because i really didn't expect that there are many Greeks living in this continent. And why someone should have arranged an organization such as a traditional Greek dance? Anyway, then i've learnt that the current record has been broken by 2500 People who had been trained by professional dancers! A few days ago they danced Sirtaki accompanied by world-famous singer Mikis Thedorakis' well known song "Zorba-The greek" in Rhodes Island!!!

Good job guys!!! Congratulations sincerely. I really admire your music instrument Bouzuki and your traditional dance "Sirtaki"...I am sure you'll break many other record in near future!!!

Good luck...

I think that the record "unofficial" should be in Holland...All the stadium of Vitesse was dancing sirtaki every time Nikos Machlas was scoring a goal :D

A bit off-topic comment: zorbas song is fantastic, once i was a part in a chorus and we sang it,unfortunately the singer Basis had the leading voice and he murdered it, he was very unready for this performance, anywayyyy

Ektora this instrumental part of the song is just only a part of a melodic poem written for zorbas that definetely has verses..
